I have always been privileged to enjoy great friends, and a loving family.  When I struggled in life, I was never alone.  Life has forced me to pay attention to the patterns and cycles in living; in my relationships; and especially in the lives of  the women I have known well.

At the core of my body there is a bony structure.  The female pelvic bone is the link between the limbs and the spine.  It allows me upright mobility and houses the reproductive organs.  It cradles and protects the unborn child, transforming itself for the birthing process.

For those reasons I chose a female pelvic bone; the core of my physical self; to serve as a symbol for this exhibition of art   "WOMEN I HAVE KNOWN".  It is my personal search of social, political and spiritual narratives  that are women.
